Stan's schedule for Northeast Popular Culture Association Virtual Conference 2026

The 2026 Northeast Popular Culture Association (NEPCA) will host its annual conference this fall as a virtual conference from Thursday, October 15th through Saturday, October 17th.

Virtual sessions will take place via Zoom throughout the day on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

We are looking forward to another engaging and rewarding conference for new and seasoned members alike. We are seeking proposals for panels and presentations for this year’s conference.

NEPCA prides itself on holding conferences that emphasize sharing ideas in a non-competitive and supportive environment. We welcome proposals from graduate students, independent scholars, disciplinary professionals, junior faculty, and senior scholars. NEPCA conferences offer intimate and nurturing sessions in which new ideas and works-in-progress can be aired, as well as completed projects.

About me

Stan Pelkey is a Professor of Musicology at the University of Kentucky. Trained as a musicologist (MA and PhD) and cultural historian (MA), he teaches courses on music of the 19th and 20th centuries, British music history, and film and television music. He has published books and articles on film and television music and is currently exploring ways in which religion and morality are portrayed in scripted television programs of the 1960s and 1970s.
